Sales Representative -Architectural

 

Purpose of the role:

 

The purpose of this role is to drive sustainable sales growth and strengthen brand presence within the architectural and building materials market by developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with channel partners.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive business development initiatives within existing channel partners by reviewing the performance of key product categories, providing actionable feedback, and contributing to improvement strategies.
  • Maintain and enhance customer service standards across channel partners in collaboration with internal customer support teams.
  • Strengthen brand visibility and ensure consistent promotion of key products within the channel partner network.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute product training sessions and in‑store promotional marketing activities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard potential new channel partners to support business expansion.
  • Collaborate closely with the Specification Team to identify new business opportunities and monitor project pipelines arising from channel partner activities.
  • Manage, track, and develop sales opportunities generated from RFQs, ensuring effective follow‑through and pipeline growth.

 

Professional experience & qualifications:

 

  • Grade 12 (matric)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience within the building materials sector, supported by a proven track record of performance.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new technical products; experience in the ironmongery industry will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a dynamic building and construction environment, identify opportunities, and manage demanding customer requirements.
  • Strong problem‑solving capability with the ability to work under customer‑driven pressure, identify root causes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and equipped with strong communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally at various levels and build sustainable business partnerships.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while adhering to corporate reporting frameworks and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to outlying areas such as Bloemfontein and Nelspruit, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Own, reliable motor vehicle required for business travel.
