Demand Planner (SA & SSA)
Purpose of the Role:
As a Demand Planner at Assa Abloy AASA and SSA, you will be responsible for playing a strategic role in ensuring product availability across all Four Countries i.e. South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania and Kenya while balancing group desired customer service levels and effective inventory management. You are responsible for creating and maintaining accurate SKU-level demand forecasts that guide production planning and purchasing decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end demand forecasting by integrating sales data, promotions, trends, and seasonality to deliver accurate, unbiased forecasts
- Drive the S&OP process by leading cross‑functional meetings, challenging assumptions using forecast accuracy metrics, and highlighting supply risks and opportunities
- Collaborate closely with sales/commercial teams, production, purchasing and Pricing teams to align forecasts, production plans, and business targets
- Drive continuous process improvements on the supply chain data i.e. lead times, minimum order quantities, and ensure data accuracy
- Analyse data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements
- Develop, maintain and improve inventory models
- Oversee and improve inventory management procedures
- Track KPIs and report on supply chain’s performance
- Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects
- Collaborate with IT professionals to implement effective systems
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Procurement or related fields with strong Fast-Paced supply chain experience across demand & supply planning, inventory management, logistics, and S&OP.
- Minimum two years experience in demand or supply planning is a must. Supply chain experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, fact‑based decision‑making skills with proficiency in advanced Excel, Power Point, Netstock, Power BI.
- Customer‑centric, service‑oriented mindset with a solid understanding of complex supply chain dynamics
- Proven ability to work independently, challenge assumptions, drive continuous improvement, and act as a catalyst for change.
- Exceptional collaborator and influencer within cross‑functional teams, with high motivation, execution focus, and strong English proficiency.
