Frame Line Lead

 

Job Summary  

 

Lead and work with the team having responsibility for completing frame components of product. Set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines for metal products, components, or assemblies. 

 

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Supervise and train staff in all aspects of the line 20% 

  • Turn and press knobs and buttons or enter operating instructions into welding machines. 25% 

  • Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies. 20% 

  • Load or feed work pieces into welding machines to join or bond components.10% 

  • Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.5% 

  • Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.20% 

  • Record operational information on specified production reports.3% 

  • Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.2% 

  • Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.10% 

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervision.5% 

 

Education and Experience Profile  

  • High school diploma or GED certificate and/or industrial experience.  

  • These occupations often involve using your knowledge and skills to help others

  • Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

  • Knowledge: 

  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. 

 

  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 

 

  • Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. 

 

Tools and Technology: 

  • Calipers — Dial calipers; Outside micrometer calipers 

 

  • Gas welding or brazing or cutting apparatus — Arc welding equipment; Brazing machines; Computerized numerical control CNC oxy-fuel systems 

 

  • Hammers — Ball peen hammers; Claw hammers 

 

  • Micrometers — Vernier micrometers 

 

  • Tape measure 

 

  • Machinist square 

 

  • Welding machine — Miller brand 

 

  • Hand Grinders and pedestal grinders 

 

Technology: 

  • MIG Welding and processes 

 

  • Grinding and cutting equipment 

 

  • Fixtures 

 

  • Oxy-fuel system

Work Environment:  

  

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.  The facility is non-climate controlled.
