About The Role
We currently have an fantastic opportunity for a Product Design Engineer to join our team, based on-site at Hendon, SA.  Reporting to the Business Development Manager you will produce accurate 3D and 2D CAD data to allow client approval and production of project requirements. Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting manufacturing issues and clarifications to ensure efficient and problem free manufacture of our products.  New product design, testing to relevant standards and implementation through to sales release. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Ownership of jobs, including setting up and coordination of information database.
• Review project documentation, specifications and drawings to determine all relevant information for the creation of approval drawings for signoff by client.
• Update 3D CAD models and drawings as required for creation of manufacturing drawings, information and data.
• Brief manufacturing teams on details of any new products or manufacturing details to ensure a quality manufactured product first time.
• Endeavouring to keep NOCs to a minimum and if they can’t be prevented acting on them immediately to ensure as little disruption as possible to Production.
• Maintaining accurate project data and files and attend site meetings as required
• Work with our Customer, Production Manager and Manufacturing Team to sort out product related design problems, reporting on what was found and possible solutions for a practical and cost-effective fix as required.
• Take a proactive approach to gaining the best possible understanding of our products, capabilities and limitations.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Product Design Engineer who has experience in a manufacturing and design environment.  You will possess the ability to work well in teams, act decisively and deliver consistently.

Key competencies include:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience and degree qualified
• Experienced in the SolidWorks 3D Modelling, Drawing Creation and Sheet Metal Modules
• Ability to understand and determine information from Plans, Specifications and Schedules
• Understanding of Data Revision Management
• Sound level of skill in the use of windows suite of tools
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels with an organisation
