Role summary:

Assa Abloy is a growing global leader of industrial products and services and is seeking a Plant Manager to lead its production facility in Heerhugowaard, Netherlands. Reporting to the Head of Supply chain Europe, this role carries full responsibility for all plant operations and overall P&L performance. Direct reports of 7 and and a site of approx 150 FTE.

 

The Industrial segment is part of Entrance Systems Division and is responsible for producing Industrial Doors. The European scope of the Industrial segment is around 1.1 BEuro with 5,600 employees. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the factory operations, including production, quality, logistics and purchasing to ensure efficient and high-quality production of industrial doors (Overhead sectional doors)
  • Secure excellent customer satisfaction with deliveries of right quality at right time.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize production processes, improve on time delivery, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions
  • Drive the Operational excellence program and continue the implementation of lean manufacturing, problem solving at root cause and continuous improvement culture
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Production management and R&D for industrialization of new product introductions
  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the team to excel at their jobs
  • Foster employee engagement by ensuring a culture of accountability, empowerment and results-orientation
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment
  • P&L responsibility for the plant, incl. managing budgetary constraints effectively, optimizing resource allocation and cost control measures

 

 

Background and personal qualities:
Requirements for this position will include a

  • Minimum of five years plant management experience gained within an international manufacturing environment with make to order production
  • Proven track record in meeting and improving KPIs (SQDC)
  • Proven track record in successful lean implementation with good working knowledge of a variety of lean tools
  • Strong analytical mindset, which approaches business issues in a structured manner and with root cause problem solving
  • Extensive experience as a people leader, developing and growing diverse individuals and teams. Experienced in situational leadership and acting as role modelling, leading by example
  • Establish and maintain strong effective working relationships, in particular close cooperation and communication with the various Business and Product units.
  • Good communicator, both written and verbal, and the ability to work within a matrix organization
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken, on a business level.
