Your Role in Keeping the Future in Safe Hands…
As a Staff Accountant for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to become a valuable member of our Finance team, making a genuinely positive impact in the lives of our customers.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the organization by assisting in the financial responsibilities for the day-to-day management of its key functions; including preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, payroll, and other related financial activities. You will be responsible for preparing accurate monthly P&L, accounts and other sales & financial reporting in a suitable format for internal records and submission to the UK for incorporation into the ASSA ABLOY financial reporting.
What you will do…
- Perform month-end closing activities including oversight of General Ledger as well as reconciliation and support for all Balance Sheet accounts.
- Produce accurate financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet, and supporting schedules while adhering to reporting deadlines.
- Monitor all bank transactions and reconcile accounts monthly.
- Manage payroll process to include payroll processing, maintaining integrity of the payroll system, recording all payroll-related items to the General Ledger and ensuring timely funding of the 401(k) plan in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in ensuring accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
- Assist with required sales analysis and calculation of monthly commission payments.
- Manage team responsible for monitoring accounts receivable and collections, ensuring adherence to corporate DSO objectives.
- Maintain accurate sales tax records, ensuring adherence to exemption certificate maintenance and working with a third party to ensure timely and accurate filing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Finance Manager according to company standards and requirements.
What we expect of you…
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
- 2+ years financial administration experience, Managerial skills helpful.
- Experience with variance analysis reporting including interpretation of results.
- Extensive experience with Excel and other financial reporting tools.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability in tackling new tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills (Competent in the following areas):
- Experience in implementation of new ERP system a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, SAP, Sage
Physical Requirements:
- Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend and reach.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 20lbs as needed.
- Ability to sit and/or work on your feet for up to 8 hours per day.
