As a Senior Software Developer / Team Lead for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to become a valuable member of our highly technical Engineering team, making a genuinely positive impact in the lives of our customers. You will get to work on a team that keeps growing, innovating, and giving you room to be proactive, creative and develop unique perspectives on how various products and services interact with one another.

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, you will maintain and extend our existing range of software solutions and products while contributing your knowledge and experience to help manage the software development team.

What you will do…

 

  • Provide deep product support, technical leadership, and insights in order to unblock developers.
  • Impart your expertise and experience to help shape the technical design and architectural implementation of our platforms.
  • Possess full-stack development experience in web, desktop, cloud, SaaS, mobile, database, operating systems, and networking environments.
  • Support and assist the delivery of our strategic software programs.
  • Spend a proportion of your time doing hands on development.
  • Conduct peer reviews of code.
  • Promote and uphold agile principals.
  • Building a high-performance team by inspiring, unblocking, communicating, and embedding trust.
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical concerns.
  • Uphold and educate our working guidelines and best practices..
  • Share your experience and expertise to refine and improve our ways of working
  • Support and guide the team in defining technical specifications and implementation for key projects.
  • Foster alignment with group organizations relating to ways of working, tools, and processes.
  • Conduct individual performance reviews.
  • Support colleagues with their development and training needs.
  • Recruit the best engineering talent to join our team.

 

What we expect of you…

  • 5+ years hands-on software developer experience.
  • College degree or equivalent technical certifications in Computer Science or Engineering fields.
  • Experience designing software architectures for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, and test driven development.
  • A highly detail oriented, analytical, and data driven approach to solving problems through technology.
  • Experience with issue management systems (e.g., Jira), team workspace systems (e.g., Confluence), remote collaboration tools (e.g., Miro), code repository systems (e.g., Git), Git server/web interface products (e.g., Bitbucket), build automation tools, (e.g., Nuke), and cloud services (e.g., Azure).
  • Thorough and applied appreciation of Agile software development practices, the SDLC, and the SSDLC.
  • A passion for people management and mentorship.
  • You must be an excellent communicator, written and verbal, and able to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
