As a Quality Engineer for the Global Solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the evolution of our next generation products, services, and processes and work with a wide range of technologies to drive innovation. You will get to work on a team that keeps growing, innovating, and giving you room to be proactive, creative, and develop unique perspectives on how various services interact with each other.

 

Reporting to the Electromechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in helping to maintain the quality of our solutions by performing ad-hoc and structured testing, creating, and executing test plans, recording test results, and identifying/recording/resolving defects. You will also focus on reducing process variance by developing, revising, and applying quality standards to help improve the quality of our solutions.

  

What you will do…

 

  • Assist the Quality Management Team to improve the overall quality of our products and processes.
  • Determine, monitor, and improve quality metrics of manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible.
  • Oversee defect inspection of product materials and electrical systems.
  • Evaluate product issues for root cause from a mechanical, electrical, and firmware perspective.
  • Fault find and identify the root of technical issues through performing component level investigations to produce solution recommendations.
  • Evaluate current design packages and quality documentation for improved quality from the manufacturers.
  • Set and track quality assurance goals.
  • Coordinate and assist with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance.
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products.
  • Investigate product complaints, returns, and reported quality issues.
  • Work with R&D to design test fixtures and inspection tools for new and existing products.
  • Develop and manage company complaint and inspection procedures.
  • Create quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Evaluate and improve hardware and production processes for high-volume delivery.

 

What we expect of you…

 

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Quality Engineer
  • BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
  • Experience in creating test plans, cases, fixtures, and scripts
  • Manual and automated quality testing experience
  • Ability to use Electronic Test Equipment such as Oscilloscopes and Multi-meters
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, and firmware design, and its corresponding technical documentation
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, including inspection
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis
  • Ability to identify, document, and track defects to closure using defect tracking tools
  • Experience with issue management systems such as Jira, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of quality software, assurance methods, tools, and manufacturing processes
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, with excellent soft skills
  • Understanding and experience with Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge and experience in harnessing design and testing is a plus
