Required Skills: Strong technical product knowledge to service, trouble-shoot problems and perform preventative maintenance on all automatic, manual and revolver doors. To perform service in accordance with national standards (diagnose and repair). Must be people-oriented and reflect enthusiastic, professional, highly-respectable and accountable demeanor. Excellent written, verbal and follow up/through communications are required. This position reports to the Field Service Supervisor.

Professional Qualities: Must be customer oriented and entrepreneurial in nature. He/she must approach the position as a total service provider, whose goal is to ensure customer satisfaction to the highest degree. The individual must possess a broad scope of the role he/she plays in ensuring the on-going success of the business, team and accounts under his/her direct influence, and be willing to conduct service business in a professional manner that reflects team member investment, commitment, accountability and "ownership" over the customer base and the business itself.

                          

Description of Service Technician Duties: 

 

  1. Demonstrates company values and our behaviours for the following; engagement & communications, open-minded & courageous, professional & respectful and building the team spirit with all team members and colleagues.
  2. Provide polite, professional and responsive service to customers.
  3. Continually searches for and identifies opportunities for add-on service-related revenue to grow and expand the District Service business, such as; upgrades, modifications, service contracts, parts sales and new equipment sales.
  4. Ensure good quality of work is performed on service repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
  5. Service processes, procedures and protocols are detailed, thorough and in compliance
  6. Views role from a broad perspective, ensuring that day-to-day operations continually contribute to overall performance, customer experience and company/department initiatives and goals
  7. Perform emergency service, diagnose and repair, preventative/planned maintenance, operation/maintenance instruction and upgrades on automatic, manual and revolver doors, both on company and competitor products. 
  8. Actively engaged in recommending improvements (upgrades and modifications) to customers to correct and/or improve product performance, functionality and safety. Provide quotes on replacement of wearable parts and failed safety checks while performing planned maintenance.
  9. Maintain proper truck stock and inventory to support territory and First Time Fix KPI.
  10. Maintain company vehicle both in appearance [interior and exterior] and adhering to vehicle maintenance schedule.
  11. Maintain clean, neat personal appearance in accordance to company Appearance Policy and representing our brand in a professional manner.
  12. Label equipment and completed door assignments with approved company logo decals.
  13. Maintain accurate, detailed and responsiveness to all administrative accountabilities, such as; time recording, expense reports, service reports, customer record updates, completion of checklist, check-in and out on IVR etc.
  14. Interface with customer, end-user and general contractor in a courteous professional manner at all times.
  15. Participate in training programs offered and remain AAADM certified.
  16. Perform all work in a safe manner for prevention of accidents to themselves, co-workers, and end-user on-site and the general public and property of all concerned.
  17. Wear and maintain any/all Personal Protection Equipment when necessary.
  18. Assist in any/all inventories as directed.
  19. Maintains vehicle inventory for installation tools and supplies.
  20. Maintains vehicle cleanliness and organization at all times.
  21. Effectively communicated with clients regarding arriving to site, checking-in, service update, returning to restore equipment and checking-out. This includes IVR, paperwork and customer special request.
  22. Ensures that the client relationship is held as priority and all client questions and concern are answered to their satisfaction.
  23. Maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests various types of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and related devices supporting automatic and manual doors.
  24. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in order to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems.
  25. Troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
  26. Other duties as assigned.

 

Description of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  1. Strong electro-mechanical aptitude.
  2. AAADM Certification preferred.
  3. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate both written and orally in the English language.
  4. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  5. Physical ability to continuously lift and bend, climb ladders, work on knees for extended periods of time and proficient in operating power tools.
  6. Understand and work with basic electrical circuits and relay logic.
  7. Responsible, adaptable, punctual and reliable.
  8. Able to work effectively and efficiently with little to no supervision.
  9. Comply with all local traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
