General Manager - MX

     

 

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, the global leader in entrane automation is looking for a General Manager for our Mexico operation.

 

We are part of Business Segment Industrial, Direct Business North America and specialize in the sale, installation and service of docking equipment, overhead sectional doors, rolling steel doors and other adjacent products to a variety of customers in logistics, distribution, transportation, manufacturing and other segments.

 

This position is based in Mexico and can be located in Guadalajara, Mexico City or Monterrey, Mexico.

 

Position Summary

The General Manager (Mexico) is responsible for the overall leadership, growth, profitability, and operational performance of the company's dock and door equipment installation and service business throughout Mexico and South Texas. This executive role oversees sales, installation, service operations, customer satisfaction, financial performance, safety, and talent development while ensuring compliance with all applicable Mexican labor, tax, and commercial regulations.

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader from the loading dock, overhead door, industrial door, warehouse automation, material handling, commercial construction, or building products industry who possesses a strong understanding of Mexico's economic environment, industrial manufacturing sectors, logistics infrastructure, and regional business practices. The General Manager will develop and execute growth strategies while creating a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence and customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full P&L, budgeting, forecasting and operating cash flow.
  • Develop and execute business growth strategy in Mexico and South Texas.
  • Lead sales, service, installation, and operational performance.
  • Ensure robust import / export control oversight across the Mexico business to maintain or exceed compliance with customs, trade, and cross border regulatory requirements
  • Mitigate operational and financial risk and support uninterrupted movement of products throughout our supply chain.
  • Lead expansion initiatives, including M&A, new territories, branches, service offerings and strategic partnerships.
  • Build and maintain key customer and strategic partner relationships.
  • Develop high-performing teams and leadership talent.
  • Champions safety, compliance, and risk management.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior management role.
  • Proven P&L responsibility and leadership of sales, service, and operations teams.
  • Industry experience in loading dock equipment, industrial/commercial doors, warehouse automation, material handling, construction products, or industrial services.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexico's industrial markets and logistics environment as well as economic landscape regionally and nationally.
  • Proficient in SAT, IMSS, REPSE VUCEM/VUTCE (export) regulations between US and Mexico.
  • Experience managing international business units within US & Mexico.
  • Knowledgeable in US & MX accounting, fiscal, trade as well as social requirements and compliance.

 

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish and English required.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports To: President, US/Mexico. Must be able to travel between the US and Mexico.
  • Direct Reports: Sales Manager(s), Service Manager, Installation, Operations Managers, Finance, HR, Purchasing, Logistics and Regional Branch Leaders.
