We are looking for a skilled embedded Firmware Test Architect who will work on creating firmware platforms for low-power secure IoT devices (RFID readers, indoor location devices, wearables) including a variety of RF technologies.


This role is based in our Graz office in Austria. You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within a leading security technology company. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and further your career within a supportive environment.

As our Firmware Test Architect, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Designing comprehensive test suites for embedded firmware applications
  • Developing test fixtures in C and higher-level Object-Oriented language (e.g. C# or Python)
  • Preparing test documentation
  • Preparing, presenting, and participating in technical discussions and code reviews
  • Proactively providing status, raising issues, and communicating necessary information to appropriate team members on a regular basis

Your Experience and Education include:             

  • Strong foundation in testing process design and test implementation
  • Object-oriented programming (e.g. C# or Python)
  • Experience with secure elements is a plus
  • Experience with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, ISO7816/14443, NFC, BLE, etc.) is a plus
  • Applied cryptography knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with source code management, bug tracking, project planning, and continuous integration tools
