Health & Safety Co-ordinator 


To assist the Safety, Health Environment, & Quality Manager to promote a positive EHS culture by preventing accidents, injuries & ill health within our business and establishing standards and processes at the Cheltenham site.


Main Duties & Accountabilities:


  • Support the site SHEQ Manager in the development and implementation of effective policies and procedures to reduce risk.
  • Facilitate and develop a safe workplace without risk to health or impact on the natural environment.
  • To identify and lead the development of environmental improvement projects within the site in line with the business’s 2025 plan to reduce carbon emissions by 25% (Science based target, scopes 1 & 2).
  • Coaching the wider operational teams for them to be able to complete and review machine, manual handing, COSHH and ergonomic risk assessments.
  • To manage all aspects of environmental management including waste streams, ISO certification, permit requirements and pollution control.
  • Support SHEQ meetings in coordination with the site leadership team with a view to monitor and improve SHEQ performance on site.
  • Support the SHEQ Manager by being a key facilitator and encourage continual improvement on site regarding EHS provision.
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the schedule. Reporting non-conformities to the manager of the area and ensuring the non-conformities are closed out in a timely manner by the manager of the area.


Education / Qualifications:



  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent level 3)
  • ISO 14001:2015 Internal auditor



  • NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Member of the Institution of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH)
  • ISO 9002:2015 Internal auditor
