We are seeking an operationally focused Finance Analyst to join our HID Global Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, Operations for our Citizen Identification (CID) Global Business Area, the successful candidate will ensure our financial reporting is effective and aligns with business objectives. In addition, this position will support our monthly management reporting. This business is experiencing rapid organic growth and growth by acquisition. You will therefore also be involved in providing financial support for relevant acquisitions.

As our Operations Accountant, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Cost accounting
  • Managing the manufacturing monthly close process, including monthly stock stock analysis and group reporting
  • Maintaining standard costs on the system, reviewing purchase price variances, standard cost revaluations and other system variances
  • Reviewing product and project costings, ensuring job costings are in line with site budgets
  • Providing manufacturing variance analysis to management team as required
  • Providing overhead / CAPEX analysis support to management team
  • Providing ad hoc operational control & financial analysis data as required.
  • Project accounting
  • Ensuring revenue is recognised in line with IFRS 15, including preparation, analysis and posting of revenue journals
  • Reviewing customer contracts for terms which may affect when revenue can be recognised
  • Working with Program Managers to track ongoing project profitability
  • Preparing inputs to forecasting and budgetary cycle
  • Preparing account reconciliations for project related balance sheet accounts
  • Reporting
  • Supporting management reporting / forecasting cycles and deliver business partnership capability as required
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly performance review slides
  • Supporting ad hoc reporting requests as required
  • Team
  • Collaborating with (multiple sites):
  • General ledger & shared service teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Wider global finance team to gain alignment on accounting treatments across HID for such specialist topics as project accounting, standard costing etc.
  • Other key stakeholders, including sales team & program management office
  • Process & Systems
  • Workinging with corporate finance team, assist in the review design and implementation of financial processes in compliance with Corporate policies and controls
  • Proactively collaborating across multifunctional teams to create an environment that strives for global consistency of best practices
  • Assisting with the integration of acquisitions

 

What we will love about your background: 

 

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing
  • A second European language is an advantage
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
  • Considerable experience of ERP systems - Oracle a distinct advantage
  • A working understanding of standard BI tools - Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) an advantage
  • A proven track record of setting priorities, managing expectations and delivering on commitments
  • Strong team player who thrives working both cross-functionally and globally, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Energetic and analytical with a positive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to translate data into actionable information
  • Aptitude for adapting and performing in a constantly changing environment
  • Strong presentation skills including previous experience presenting to senior executives

 

Your Experience and Education include:  

           

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting
  • Recognised professional qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience gained in an international company / multi-cultural environment
  • Experience of manufacturing environment is essential
  • Standard costings & variance analysis is desirable
  • Experience of project accounting is desirable

 

Work requirements:

 

  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems
  • Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland
  • Flexibility around month end / forecasting deadlines including public holidays
