D&D Technologies is seeking a Trainee Die Setter to join our Injection Moulding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude who is keen to learn a skilled trade through hands‑on, in‑house training while working alongside experienced Die Setters.

About the Role
As a Trainee Die Setter, you will work under the supervision of experienced Die Setters and the Moulding Manager to learn all aspects of die setting and injection moulding operations. Your training will cover machine setup, mould changes, material handling, process monitoring, troubleshooting, and WHS‑compliant work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Die Setters with day‑to‑day injection moulding operations
- Learn and assist with mould and insert changes using cranes and tooling
- Assist with hydraulic and water connections and monitor correct usage
- Purge machines and change raw materials, including colour changes
- Handle polymer materials and learn resin properties (e.g. TPE, POM, PC, PP, PA)
- Monitor machine performance and product quality
- Assist with setting and loading process parameters into machine controllers
- Support troubleshooting activities to reduce scrap and downtime
- Respond to machine alarms under supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in line with WHS requirements
- Work cooperatively as part of a manufacturing team
- Assist with other duties as required by the business
About You
You will be someone who is eager to learn, reliable, and safety‑focused, with a strong interest in mechanical or manufacturing work.
To be successful, you will have:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work well in a team environment
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts
- Ability to lift up to 15kg in line with safe work procedures
- The ability to work independently after completing the training period
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in manufacturing, injection moulding, or a mechanical trade
- Forklift and/or crane licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel)
