The Senior Product Marketing Manager will oversee commercial biometric product management functions and product marketing strategy. Additionally, understand the identity and security markets, which includes customer needs and formulate product plans to position HID Global Biometric Business Unit commercial biometric products effectively, together with HID products and services.
There is a desire to move from product supplier to solution enabler where appropriate. This role will have product responsibility serving a broad range of biometric technologies that benefit any transaction requiring irrefutable proof of identity — such as access control, customer onboarding, fraud prevention, loss prevention, time and attendance in traditional commercial verticals including health care, financial and retail.

As our Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will collaborate closely with leadership, project management, designers, engineers, analysts, sales and marketing and other cross-functional team members within the organization and with external partner managers to drive the product roadmap and to ensure that our products deliver seamless user experiences to end users.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Product Management. You will be a part of a small team and play a significant role in being the voice of the customer, and driving innovation.
You will support HID’s success by:
• Providing expert understanding of the Biometric Business Unit market and create a vision and strategy for how the business unit can grow its share of the market, including commercial biometric hardware, software and solutions for fingerprint and contactless biometric offerings
• Defining the markets and target end users to be served by the product portfolio
• Owning and manage product launch plans with accountability for implementation
• Developing and prioritize Market Requirements for biometric offerings.
• Analyzing business requirements and define product use cases and requirements to meet such use cases
• Defining and building key parts of the product roadmap based on key market trends and compelling opportunities that differentiates HID Global as a market leader, establishing key KPI’s to drive the business
• Being the voice of the customer in driving innovation for the Biometric business unit portfolio, translating that knowledge into an executable GTM strategy
• Your ability to represent the HID Biometric Business Unit as product expert at industry, channel, supplier, and customer events
• Working with sales, management, engineering, and sales operations teams to ensure that HID Global is addressing all sales enablement needs of the business unit
• Supporting day-to-day product questions and issue resolution
• Documenting and communicating product changes to the business and members. Participate in change management internally with departments and end-users
• Operating programs within specified plan & budget while ensuring strict compliance and financial controls
• Developing and implementing sales enablement programs and sales tools that support the selling process of the portfolio. This includes close cooperation with marketing communication on messaging, positioning and content creation (presentations, website, videos, blogs, white papers, and other collateral) to support key go-to-market strategies, as a subject matter expert
• Building competitive analysis tools and resources
• Identifying and suggesting possible partnering and acquisition opportunities

• Previous demonstrable experience as an individual contributor managing all product marketing and go-to-market launch elements
• Expertise in the area of identity, security and biometrics
• Experience collaborating with marketing communications and sales on outbound marketing deliverables
• Excellent written and verbal English skills with the ability to communicate key product value and competitive differentiation in a clear and concise manner
• Proven ability to understand market needs and translate into go-to-market strategies and roadmaps
• High energy and passion for solving the challenges at hand
• Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to evangelize the message.
• Experience of guiding cross-functional teams to a precise understanding of product decisions and resulting impact
• Experience in analytics gathering and interpreting results into meaningful reports for management
• Proven ability to successfully launch products and services globally.
• Experience in managing a hardware and software portfolio (SDKs, Drivers and application software)
• Experience with semiconductors, optical or video technology manufacturing
• Experience working with 3rd party hardware, software, technology and manufacturing partners
• Capable of establishing credibility with sales force and customers
• You are a quick learner and take ownership
• You are comfortable with, and able to manage constructively; change, ambiguity, debate, conflict, and informed risk taking
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Your Experience and Education include:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Marketing, Computer Science/Engineering or Technology degree a plus
• Preference for 10 years product management / product marketing management related experience within the identity and security technology industry, ideally with both hardware and software products. Experience with biometric solutions is a plus
• Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred
• Naturally curious and inquisitive with the ability to breakdown complex issues (i.e., simplify)
• Energetic and analytical with a positive approach to problem solving

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The base salary in the Bay area is $160,000 to $190,000.
