Shipping and Receiving Clerk

 

 

Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely handling of all shipments and inventory within the warehouse. This includes pulling, packing, shipping products and supplies, coordinating transport, maintaining records, and receiving inventory and RMAs. The position requires adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and company policies to meet both internal and external customer needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ship all goods within 48 hours of receipt or as specified by the pick ticket date.
  • Accurately pull, verify, and deliver parts for orders and technical support requests.
  • Pack goods in boxes or pallets after verification by teammates or the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Coordinate shipping through carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, Old Dominion) based on the pick ticket or Shipping Bible.
  • Collaborate with customer service for necessary international shipping documentation.
  • Receive and process incoming inventory, supplies, and RMAs according to the receiving procedure.
  • Unload containers, air shipments, and LTL freight deliveries, and stock shelves appropriately.
  • Place orders for free supplies from courier websites and report shortages to the Logistics Coordinator and Operations Manager.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies, including part and lot numbers, to the Logistics Coordinator and Operations Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety policies.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience          

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant shipping and receiving experience or related training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.

 

Language Skills                   

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.    

 

Computer Skills     

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with shipping management software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, Old Dominion).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

Work Requirements

  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
  • Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which you are hired. 
  •  Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
