As a Senior Embedded Software Developer 80-100% (m/f/d), you will work at our Fehraltorf location in the young sensor technology team on the development of new sensors that are used worldwide in our door systems.


In an agile research and development team, you will collaborate with dynamic and motivated engineers from various disciplines, using modern tools, ample design freedom, and state-of-the-art technologies to create sensor solutions. These solutions are implemented in daily life worldwide through our company’s international network.


How you will contribute:

  • Develop hardware-related software for our door system sensors.
  • Make design decisions regarding our software architecture and understand that durable products require high code quality.
  • Implement user stories according to an agile approach, considering safety and security requirements.
  • Collaborate on innovation and research projects with universities and academic institutions.
  • Develop testing concepts for sensors and conduct or evaluate fundamental tests.
  • Ensure the required product quality (HW and SW) and handle product testing with certifying bodies.
  • Provide advisory support for ongoing projects, maintaining contacts with customers and suppliers.

 

The skills and experience you need:

  • A degree in (Electrical) Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics from ETH/FH or a similar qualification.
  • Solid programming skills in C++, with experience in Python being advantageous.
  • Experience in the embedded field (firmware development, Linux, and real-time operating systems).
  • Familiarity with RTOS, software architecture, and sensor technology.
  • Ideally, experience with CI/CD, unit and system testing.
  • Knowledge in machine learning (e.g., deep learning) and experience with common libraries/frameworks is a plus.
  • Ideally experience in functional safety and certification of safety products.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, German is a plus
