Lead Software Engineer

What you would do as our Lead Software Engineer

You would be part Be part of the software development team who designs, implements, maintains and tests backend software for our ABLOY OS product (EAC - Electronic Access Control). Development will be your main role.

 

You would also:

• Lead and guide the team’s development and technical activities, collaborating closely with the Product Owner and other stakeholders.

• Communicate and work closely with product management and other development teams to define the development roadmap and plans.

• Actively participate in diverse product development projects across both domestic and international organizations.

• Facilitate team meetings and ensure effective collaboration within the development team.

• Contribute to our architecture group by driving architectural design and decisions for our EAC system, while also addressing cybersecurity considerations.

 

The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who has:

• Over 7 years of professional experience in Java and C/C++ development, with a strong track record in leading successful projects. Solid understanding of software development environments, tools, and technologies, as well as domain expertise in Electronic Access Control (EAC) systems and basic knowledge of electronics and embedded devices.

• Skilled in Linux, Java, and C/C++ programming, with deep knowledge of architectural design patterns and communication protocols.

• Proven experience in leading teams and product development, mentoring team members, and fostering collaboration to achieve shared goals.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, proactive and results-oriented mindset, customer focus, and ability to make decisions and provide effective solutions. Eager to learn and continuously develop.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in embedded programming, software engineering, or a related field, with familiarity in agile methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe. Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish is considered an advantage.
