Product Developer Mechanics

What you would do as Product Developer Mechanics
As a Product Developer at ASSA ABLOY, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of our cutting-edge products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and innovation.
Your responsibilities would include guiding the product from conception to industrialization, requiring close collaboration with various stakeholders and departments across our organization. This multidisciplinary engagement will offer excellent opportunities to enhance your expertise in product development.
You would also:
- Be involved in new product development projects and all stages of the product’s lifetime.
- Design, update and revise product related documents such as 3D CAD models, drawings, and other relevant R&D related documentation.
- Participate in quality increasing activities and work with continuous improvements in cross-functional teams.
The skills and experiences you need
We are looking for someone who:
- Has 2+ years of relevant experience and preferably a technical degree in mechanics, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Is skilled in 3D CAD SolidWorks, both modelling and creation of drawings.
- Is familiar with G&D tolerances, tolerance analysis and has experience work with PLM systems, preferably Teamcenter.
- Has experience of sheet metal forming, plastic injection molding, metal injection molding, die casting or precision casting.
- Has a very good knowledge of English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
As a Product Developer, you are a creative and analytical thinker with a passion for innovation and sustainability. You excel in solving complex problems and bringing ideas to life, with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of both technical and aesthetic aspects of design. You are organized and methodical, conducting thorough analyses to ensure perfection. You are a proactive problem-solver, you take ownership of your work and strive for excellence. Your dedication to continuous improvement keeps you at the forefront of industry trends, and you are committed to creating products that positively impact people and the environment.
Preferred experience includes expertise in design and sustainability, FMEA analysis for risk mitigation, and tolerance analysis for precision engineering. Familiarity with the full product development cycle—from concept and prototyping to testing and production—is highly valued, along with experience using simulations and 3D printing for rapid iteration. Previous work with integrated electronics such as PCBs, motors, and sensors in mechanical constructions is a plus. We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a structured environment.
