Head of Digital Operations

Are you a strategic and people-driven IT leader with a passion for delivering reliable, secure, and future-ready digital services? ASSA ABLOY is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Digital Operations to lead our IT Operations function in the Nordics. Based in Eskilstuna, Sweden, you will ensure stable, efficient, and scalable IT services that empower our business to operate seamlessly and innovate confidently. In this role, you'll thrive in a collaborative, innovative culture that empowers you to build a career to be proud of.

You will be part of the “IT Nordics Management Team” which includes the managers of “Digital Workplace & Service Desk”, “Digital Architecture & Development” and “IT PMO” function managers.

You will be reporting to the Nordics IT Director.

What you will do as our Head of Digital Operations

As our Head of Digital Operations, you will be responsible for leading the teams that deliver high-quality Application and Infrastructure services aligned with business needs. You will ensure a stable and flexible IT environment while driving simplification, cost optimization, and operational excellence across the Nordics.

You will take ownership of both day-to-day operations and long-term digital strategies; from ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards such as ISO27001 and NIS2, to managing key vendor partnerships and driving continuous improvement across services. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders as well as divisional (EMEIA) and Group IT, to align local initiatives with global direction and support seamless service delivery.

You would also:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of internal and external IT professionals, based in the Nordic countries (majority in Finland and Sweden).
  • Foster collaboration, engagement, and continuous growth for your IT Operations team (6-8 employees internally).
  • Develop and implement digital operations strategies that support the company’s long-term business goals.
  • Oversee the delivery, maintenance, and documentation of IT services to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships, ensuring cost efficiency, value creation, and service quality.
  • Drive and support local IT projects from concept to delivery, ensuring successful execution and alignment with business needs.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in IT operations, IT service management, and people leadership — ideally minimum 8 years.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and practical ITSM experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and governance frameworks (ISO27001, NIS2).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English and one of the Nordic languages (both spoken and written).

The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical IT leader who thrives in complex environments and makes data-driven decisions with confidence. You combine strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic and structured approach, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution when needed. You are collaborative, communicative, and comfortable working across organizational boundaries to build trust and alignment. Experience with Agile or Scrum frameworks is a strong advantage, as is familiarity with cloud transformation or hybrid infrastructure environments. Fluency in a Nordic language is mandatory — what matters most is your ability to lead through influence, foster teamwork, and drive operational excellence across diverse teams and stakeholders.
