Senior Software Engineer

HKC Security, an Assa Abloy group company, is an Irish based manufacturer of intruder alarm equipment established over two decades ago to serve the growing needs of the security market. The Company is a market leader in Ireland and has a proven track record and a trusted reputation among professional installers and specifiers.

We are seeking to expand our highly motivated R&D team with a skilled Senior Software Engineer to take a role in the development of our next generation electronic security systems.

The primary objectives of this position:

• As a key member of the R&D team within a busy, dynamic office environment, the primary objective will be to support the timely and accurate preparation of duties as listed below:

Key responsibilities and duties are:

• Developing native Desktop and Mobile applications
• Develop web based front ends (HTML/CSS)
• Perform modifications on existing software to add improved functionality
• Collaborate with engineers and service personnel to debug and resolve software issues
• Develop in accordance with best software engineering and UX practice, helping to define development standards for the team
• Create technical specification document
• Provide technical assistance to other engineers as required

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Software Engineering or related.
• Proven experience with Windows, iOS and Android
• Web development (HTML / CSS)
• Proven experience with REST as an API design and have experience integrating with middle tiers.
• JavaScript and TypeScript, TDD / BDD, Redux, C#, Xamarin
• A good understanding of networking protocols,
• Must be a good team player with strong communications skills.
