What would you do as our Head of R&D

As part of HKC Security’s continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Head of R&D to join our team. A key focus of the role will be to drive all research and development initiatives, overseeing the innovation of both hardware and software components of our electronic security products. This exciting opportunity will allow you to showcase your leadership and project management skills to help motivate a diverse R&D team whilst delivering high quality products efficiently.

You would also:

• Lead a diverse engineering team, mentor talent, and foster innovation and professional growth.
• Oversee multiple R&D projects, manage budgets, and ensure timely delivery with risk mitigation.
• Align R&D strategy with business goals, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Work with product management to define technical feasibility and shape product roadmaps; collaborate with external partners and offshore teams.
• Ensure products meet regulatory standards and oversee testing processes for reliability and compliance.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in leading R&D projects from concept to production, including budget ownership.
• Is degree-qualified with a strong technical background in electronics hardware and software development,
• Has a proven track record in driving product innovation throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Has excellent leadership and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with offshore teams as well as third-party providers.
• Is familiar with industry standards and has experience with emerging technologies such as wireless communication and cloud integration.
