Specification Writer
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Specification writing, Hardware schedule preparation, technical assistance, and Project budget pricing.
- Assists Architect's in drawing up specifications on doors and hardware for new building projects in both 2D and 3D BIM Environment (Revit).
- Communicate with Consultant, Interior Designer, Architect & understand their requirement from the concept / design stage of the project, understands their requirement on BIM and gives them the full support with the collaboration of Openings studio.
- Prepares door hardware specifications based on interpretations of architects building & design plans.
- Takes ownership of technical issues and provides a comprehensive support to the internal consultants.
- Works on Project Floor Plans for Door Scheduling, Hardware Scheduling, Technical catalogue sheet for the items proposed.
- Works on Industry Standard Ironmongery requirements.
- Prepares accurate and timely reports.
- Composes detailed master key schedule for any project, including high security restricted profiles and access control.
- Develops BIM Content for Doors and other components from design details Evolving with the development of the Strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-3 Years experience in Doors Hardware (BS EN & ANSI Standards), with preference for candidates experienced in Doors.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read architectural plans and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD, BIM, or specification software is a plus
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a global, collaborative environment
