Role Summary

The LATAM IT Director is responsible for leading the strategic direction, governance, and execution of Information Technology across the Latin America region. This role ensures that IT capabilities enable business growth, operational excellence, cybersecurity resilience, and digital transformation aligned with global standards and regional business priorities.

The position combines strategic leadership with operational execution, overseeing infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data governance, and regional IT project portfolios while acting as a trusted business partner to senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute the LATAM IT strategy aligned with global IT frameworks and regional business objectives.
  • Lead IT governance, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Global IT and LATAM business leadership.

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Oversee regional IT infrastructure, systems availability, and service delivery performance.
  • Establish operational standards and KPIs to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor IT performance metrics, operating costs, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Ensure effective vendor and partner management across LATAM.

 

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Lead regional cybersecurity strategy in alignment with global security frameworks.
  • Ensure protection of enterprise systems, networks, and sensitive information assets.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, including:
    • Risk assessments and vulnerability management
    • Incident response and crisis management protocols
    • Identity and access management (IAM)
    • Data protection and privacy compliance
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness and culture across the organization.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are implemented and regularly tested.

Project & Portfolio Management

  • Lead regional IT project portfolio, ensuring prioritization aligned with business value.
  • Apply structured project management methodologies (Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall as appropriate).
  • Ensure successful delivery of cross-country and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Manage change management and stakeholder adoption processes.

Data & Analytics

  • Support data-driven decision-making through analytics and reporting capabilities.
  • Promote data governance, integrity, and accessibility standards.
  • Partner with business leaders to leverage technology for productivity and innovation.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop multicultural regional IT teams.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions.
  • Foster collaboration between IT and business functions.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)

  • Fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish

  • Availability to travel up to 30%
