Sr. Global Sourcing Leader
Job Summary
Establishes and leads cross functional commodity teams to create and implement value optimizing supply strategies for assigned commodity/commodities. Works with project teams to identify sources and negotiate price and delivery for new components. Ultimately responsible for the supply relationship within the assigned commodity/commodities. Travels as required for the successful completion of duties.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- (20%) A proven ability to drive lower costs through regional/global consolidation.
- (10%) Considerable knowledge of sources of supply, markets, price, and commodity trends, with the ability to accurately predict marketplace events and develop both long-range strategy and short-term contingency plans.
- (20%) Strong strategic supplier management skills.
- (10%) Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make presentations and influence people at all levels of the organization, including upper management.
- (10%) The ability to manage multiple projects and activities that often have competing priorities.
- (10%) Selects & Develops suppliers into strategic partners bringing value & innovation to the supply chain.
- (5%) Performs and Manages Competitive bidding process, Make vs Buy analysis.
- (5%) Evaluate, measure and report Supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
- (5%) Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook.
- (5%) The ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical field or equivalent experience. Advance degree desired.
- 7+ years purchasing experience, with a preference towards procurement in a manufacturing environment with a Fortune 500 Company.
- Strong commodity experience within global sourcing
- Proven negotiating skills, Team Leadership/Management Skills, and Project Leadership experience required.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- International Business Experience required.
- A master's degree in business administration (MBA) is a plus
- A Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other related professional certification, completed or in progress is desired.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, completed or in progress is a plus.
- Experience in supply chain operations and/or management is plus

Work Environment:
