We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join ASSA ABLOY’s Digital Access Systems (DAS) team who is passionate about improving security program design. This candidate will have the ability to develop relationships at all levels of security designers, engineers, consultants, and architectural firms.  They must be seen as a leader in the industry and be able to make an immediate impact within our organization.

 

What you will be doing:

 

The Regional Business Development Manager – Security Consultant Programs will be the regional leader for all aspects of security design growth for the ASSA ABLOY brands portfolio in a specified geography. The position will have strong emphasis on supporting designated Door Security Solutions (DSS) sales territories and be the liaison for local, regional, and national consultants and designers. The candidate will lead a team-selling approach, with a special focus on integrated technology. Success will be measured on overall conversion of specifications, integrated access control design, security assessments, and other key areas of sales growth.

 

Key areas you will contribute to the role include:

 

  • Identify and develop strong relationships with Security Design firms specializing in access control, specialty door, and other ASSA ABLOY areas of focus. 
  • Support these firms with the development of specifications to include integrated solutions, security hardware, accessories/devices, power management, credential management, and other complimentary ASSA ABLOY brands. 
  • Implement and execute Division 8 and Division 28 coordination campaigns between security design firms, engineering firms, architectural firms, and the Door Security Solutions (DSS) territories.
  • Serve as the solutions expert on hardware, software, professional services, and emerging technologies portfolio. This knowledge shall also include and transfer across all ASSA ABLOY brands in order to develop a comprehensive ‘Curb to Core’ security program.
  • Prioritize, document, and communicate market requirements, project opportunities, and the competitive landscape. Champion new product and feature development which eliminates critical gaps for the DSS sales organization. 
  • Support the DSS territories with jointly educating and presenting to their customer base including architects, developers, end users, general contractors, integrators, and other channel partners as they require.
  • Develop and deliver relevant presentations and training content to groups of all sizes.  These presentations should potentially offer continuing education credits for various industry trade organizations. 
  • Form alliances and continuously interact with other ASSA ABLOY brand peers focused on the design community. Strategically align with regional channel partners and other manufacturers to expand the network of security designers.
  • Attend and coordinate local, regional, and national tradeshow events. Identify new and creative tradeshow opportunities and activities. 
  • Host and participate in internal and external web conferences on solution trends, technical updates, and stronger coordination opportunities with ASSA ABLOY solutions.
  • Utilize a CRM to record activities, coordinate project opportunities, and update other reports and information as needed.

  • You demonstrate the ability to coordinate complex projects between many stakeholders and contributors from concept to completion.
  • You demonstrate the ability to identify new customers and build strong relationships and trust within all levels of the customer base. 
  • You have the ability to identify new business opportunities and successfully orchestrate the sale of ASSA ABLOY solutions. 
  • You have the ability to perform responsibilities from a home/remote office environment or while on business travel.
  • You have the ability to travel (up to 75%) and meet the requirements of the business.
  • The ideal candidate will be located in close proximity to a major metropolitan area, within 1 hour of a major airport, and able to travel easily within their entire designated region.  
  • You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for events, trade shows, presentations, and other marketing activities as needed.

 

Education and/or experience:

 

  • Your background includes a Bachelor’s degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: building design, engineering, architectural, construction, business management, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of related business experience in the security industry (preferably includes the design of access control, security hardware/software, or other related security systems).
  • Related licenses or certifications recognized by industry organizations such as ASIS International (CPP or PSP), BICSI (RCDD), Door Hardware Institute (EHC, AHC), Construction Specifications Institute (CDT),  or CPTED is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with tools such as Microsoft Office.
  • Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools and other industry-related software for sales, activity, or opportunity reporting.
  • Working knowledge of industry related software (BIM, REVIT, CAD, Bluebeam, etc.) is a plus.

ASSA ABLOY offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including bonus, a 401(k) plan, education assistance, company car, and an environment that reflects our commitment to our employees. The wage range for this role is $120 – $135K and considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business requirements, geographic location and other business and organizational needs. This salary range is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
