As our Senior Test Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Developing QA strategies for APIs and firmware testing, aiming for reliable products delivered on schedule.
- Building, maintaining, and improving automated test frameworks for APIs, UI, and embedded systems.
- Collaborating with teams to encourage continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Driving automation, CI/CD, and other tools to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance testing methods and processes.
- Managing end-to-end QA processes, including test planning, regression testing, and defect tracking.
- Troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring timely defect resolution.
- Promoting best practices like TDD and other QA approaches for embedded systems.
- Leading process improvements to ensure product features meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
Your Experience and Background include:
- 5+ years of experience in QA or SDET roles, including 3 + years of automation experience
- Experience testing firmware and embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience developing or testing software using C and C++
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and testing techniques.
- Experience developing automated test frameworks for APIs, UI, and embedded systems, including setting up test environments and integrating CI/CD pipelines to streamline testing.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs and the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP).
- Degree in a technical field, preferably computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including transport protocols (TCP, UDP) and application protocols such as HTTPS.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools like Wireshark, Postman, and curl.
- Understanding of serial communication protocols (e.g., RS-232, RS-485).
- Experience with access control products or solutions is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SSL digital certificates.
- Experience using tools like TestRail and JIRA within Agile development environment

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range does not account for geographic differentials based on the location where the position may be filled. At HID, it is uncommon for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range. Final compensation decisions depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each case.
The base salary for CA is $110,000 to $118,000.
