The Position

 

We are seeking to appoint competent Boilermakers to our operation based in Crestmead, Qld.  The successful candidate needs to be astute in reading of workshop drafted drawings and provide clean architectural finishes. 

We provide full on the job training for the right candidate.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • MIG and TIG various gauge metals – Aluminium, Zincanneal, Zincalum, Galvabond, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel
  • Grind, clean and dress all aluminium and steel, polish stainless Steel
  • Adjust components where necessary using a grinder or other cutting tools
  • Fit components using jigs
  • General jobbing work fitting special hardware
  • Read and understand work shop drawings
  • Fabrication of profile lengths using bending and cutting machinery
  • Identify material types
  • Conduct quality control checks on own Work 
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Review product manual and documentation, and become familiar with the assembly and construction process
  • Use tools to shape and trim them down to appropriate size
  • Operate assembly machinery to assemble large products
  • Operate machinery to press, trim and shape material
  • Perform a range of tasks to assist in the efficient and safe operation of warehouse/factory, including
  • Assisting machine operators and mechanics
  • Unloading goods
  • Cleaning and removing waste materials
  • Storing goods
  • Performing general maintenance tasks
  • Conveying materials
  • Effectively communicating with team members on requirements
  • Identifying issues in work area and reporting to Team Leader
  • Working in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation                                                                                                                                                                                    
  • Duties assigned by Management
  • Record/report details of defective goods
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Complete documentation required in performance of tasks
  • Duties assigned by Management
  • Record/report details of defective goods
  • Equipment maintenance as scheduled
  • Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area on a daily basis or when required
  • Accurately record Project Hours & allocate to respective job numbers on a daily basis, submitting weekly.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Tradesperson or equivalent (Certification to be provided)
  • Welding Experience (CV to be provided)
  • Comply with standards and procedures of Austral Monsoon Building Products Pty Ltd following WHS guidelines and wear personal protective equipment
  • Must be able to read drawings, a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square
  • Ability to operate assembly machinery
  • Work within tolerance; ensure quality in the product
  • Manual dexterity
  • Physical fitness with the ability to undertake manual-handling activities
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specification
  • Must be able to operate relevant machinery and welding equipment
