Position Summary
The Test Engineer is expected to validate product quality by performing manual and automated functional tests. QA Test Engineer will be embedded in the SCRUM team.  In addition to the functional testing, the QA Test Engineer will also be responsible for performing the necessary non-functional testing.

Physical Access Control Solutions (PACS)

HID's Physical Access Control Solutions Business Area:

HID PAC’s Business Unit focuses on the growth of new clients and existing clients where we leverage the latest card and reader technologies to solve the security challenges of our clients. Other areas of focus will include authentication, card sub systems, card encoding, Biometrics, location services and all other aspects of a physical access control infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Create Test Plans, Test Scripts, Test Cases and Test Data

• Record test results (open new tickets, close existing tickets)

• Attended design meetings with Developers, Test Engineers and Architects and provide perspective to improve testability.

• Provide input on User Story creation from the testing perspective.

• Participate in daily stand-up meetings to assess status and plan the day's activities.

• Attend design meetings with Developers, Test Engineers and Architects and provide perspective to improve testability.

• Triage issues reported in the field by attempting to recreate in local test environment.

• Learn test automation strategies from team members.

• Install, configure, and operate the product in test and production environments.

• Collaborate with fellow engineers to find elegant, long-term solutions as well as creative quick fixes to problems.

• Handle tier-3 support issues

• Working in high-velocity, agile team

Technical Requirements:

• Experience with app testing including android and iOS.

• Experience with at least one Test Case Management tool (TestRail, Zehpyr, EggPlant, TestLodge, etc)

• Proven Experience in test automation (Cucumber, Selenium)

• Experience in testing Xamarin and MAUI components using C# with specflow.

• Ability to write meaningful test cases, execute test cases and record results.

• Knowledge of testing methodologies and how to apply them (white box, equivalence class partitioning, pairwise, state transition, boundary value, decision table)

• Ability to adapt quickly to a complex environment and learn new concepts.

• Understanding of Change and Release Management

• Experience in Agile software development environment preferred.

• Possess a passion for new technology and innovation.

Education and/or Experience:

• An undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required, with graduate degree preferred.

• 4+ years of overall experience in Test/QA

• REST API testing experience

• Experience with Docker and Selenium

• Experience with Atlassian suite: Jira, Confluence, etc

• Experience with CI (Jenkins or Bamboo)

• Experience with Cloud deployments:  AWS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
