A rewarding career at HID Global beckons you! We are looking for a Sr Lead Mobile Engineer, who is responsible for developing Android SDKs for some of our Product Lines. You are accountable for delivering good technical design and a quality deliverable. Full-stack Mobile Engineer with experience in building enterprise grade mobile SDKs and Apps.  Candidates should be familiar with “Native Android APIs”. 


Mandatory (Strong design, admin and development skills):

  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Should have published mobile apps in the android play store.
  • Familiarity with REST & JSON to connect Android applications with remote back-end services
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Must have cross-platform Mobile application development experience with Xamarin, React Native etc
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Good Knowledge in handling the BLE/NFC handshakes
  • Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces and controls such as “touch”
  • Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines

10+ years of experience working with installing, maintaining and developing mobile apps and SDK


Other – Desired experience:

  • Excellent exposure to Java, J2EE & Restful Web services
  • Good grasp of Cloud Technology Stack, Preferably Amazon Web Services.
  • Good knowledge on Agile Methodologies like Scrum, Kanban and XP Practices.
  • Exposure to CI tools like Jenkins, Team City is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in TDD, BDD practices is preferred
  • Good understanding of HTML5 and JavaScript
  • Comfortable to learn new technology stack as per the business needs.
