SUMMARY:
The Solution Architect (SA) works within a targeted domain and focuses on the conversion of requirements into an architecture and design. The SA leverages experience in developing the blueprint for an IT solution, consistent with company standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities include working with business users to define the project scope; developing architecture and detail design; formulating and executing project plans.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews and analyzes existing applications programs and programs in development to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of those programs.
- Identify, research and recommend information technology solutions that may benefit the organization
- Oversees and reviews work of development personnel and gives technical support and guidance.
- Work with development team to build high level project schedule and resource plans to convert requirements into actionable scope of work
- Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies
- Develop and finalize solution proposal and/or presentation of recommended solution
- Function as Technical Project Manager, and maintain oversight throughout solution delivery
- Performs analysis oversight during initial design and problem solving of programming assignments.
- Seek out opportunities to partner with and mentor less-experienced teammates, and to share leading practices and help strengthen capabilities
- Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.

- Reports directly to the Manager, Application Development.
- Works with employees at all levels of the organization.
QUALIFICATION

EDUCATION
Preferred undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
A Minimum of 8 years combined progressive experience with requirements gathering, solution design, software development and project management. A minimum 4 years leading development teams in a business production environment
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES
- Extensive knowledge of software development life cycle.
- Experience in handling application architectural and design considerations such as performance, scalability, re-usability and flexibility.
- A patient listener, with excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences.
- Self-starter with the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment
- Results oriented with ability to produce solutions that deliver measurable organizational benefit
- Proficiency with some combination of SQL, .NET, RPG, Java
- Prefer someone that has experience with Azure pipelines and SaaS, JAVA, REACT.
- Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Ability to develop solution designs, and develop actionable project plans, following SDLC practices
- Has to be a good fit for the team with the ability to lead a team technically and drive change.
- Demonstrated expertise in multi-tiered application development, and familiarity with developing large scale and volume-based applications.
- Ability to comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
