Senior Network Engineer

 

Role description
The is a role within the network organisation of the Global Shared Service Center (GSSC) covering the DDI area and possesses a senior knowledge.

 

Description 
The role is operating the DNS-DHCP-IPAM (DDI) and NTP based services, developing future designs and facilitate service management. Functions that are managed include integration, service quality, keeping SLAs, service process improvements and communication with both Divisions and internal resources.

Other aspects of the role include identifying customers and key stakeholders needs and requirements, take part of designing and validating concepts, managing service stakeholder collaborations and relationships, partnering with technology teams to analyze and write necessary documentation, and ensuring SLA delivery.

The Senior Network Engineer is part of a global team handling Infrastructure services within WiFi, LAN, WAN, Remote Access, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP), Firewall, Load balancer, URL & proxy handling and monitoring.

 

Responsibilities and challenges:

This role is to be a part of the IP Services team functions, keeping SLAs and operational delivery of significant business outcomes. be a part of Services Catalog development and managing service features and technologies that improve customer experience and operational efficiencies.
Other key responsibilities in your team include:

  • Effective simultaneous oversight and management of multiple projects/tasks
  • Authoring, reviewing, and editing service requirements for development teams
  • Presenting technical aspects of the product to customers/stakeholders in regular forums
  • Participate and maintain the service roadmap
  • Go through and align together with the SDM and teams specific designs to ensure Divisions requirements can be met with proposals
  • Collecting feedback and requirements from customers and stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities for service improvements.
  • Participating in evaluation efforts on new vendor products along with the development leads
  • Part of a global team and being one of two primary contact persons for Network Infrastructure within GSSC APAC/AMER regions

 

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in the IT field, including several years of hands-on experience with Infoblox.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • TCP/IP, subnetting, and routing
    • DNS architecture and troubleshooting
    • Advanced IPAM management
    • NTP
  • Experience with Linux and Windows DNS servers
  • Familiarity with cloud DNS services (AWS Route 53 / Azure DNS) – optional
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) – preferred
  • Strong experience working within IT organizations and participating in technology change deployments
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure, IP addressing, IP traffic management, security, and network monitoring tools
  • Experience engaging with vendors, including demonstrated success in technical evaluations and managing vendor product delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, create SOPs, runbooks, and architecture documentation
  • Strategic, logical, and creative thinker with the ability to translate strategy into effective presentations
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for driving improvements in customer experience
  • Proven experience in being part of large projects, working with stakeholders at various levels, and communicating effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to business leaders and business concepts to technologists

Language Skills                  
Ability effectively communicates in English language verbally and in writing.
