Roles & Responsibilities

  • Independently design, implement, and execute test plans for complex features and systems.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) as an active contributor to the team.

  • Contribute to story refinement and estimation by identifying test dependencies and required validation strategies.

  • Develop robust manual and automated test cases covering UI, API, and backend layers.

  • Execute functional, regression, and system tests and document results accurately.

  • Troubleshoot issues by analyzing logs, backend data, and service-level integrations.

  • Own test environments and configurations, ensuring readiness for validation and issue reproduction.

  • Develop and maintain automation test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo).

  • Conduct performance, scalability, and security testing were applicable.

  • Ensure test traceability and compliance with internal quality processes and external standards.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to align quality efforts with business goals.

  • Proactively identify risks, edge cases, and quality gaps and raise them during the design and development stages.

  • Maintain strong documentation practices for test cases, automation frameworks, and issue tracking.

Technical Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical thinking.

  • Strong experience in backend and API testing using tools like Postman, Rest Assured or similar.

  • Solid knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or Cucumber.

  • Experience with testing tools and environments including TestRail, Jira, Git, Jenkins, Docker, etc.

  • Comfortable testing cloud-hosted applications and services (AWS/Azure/GCP).

  • Proficient in writing detailed and reusable test cases, managing test data, and logging issues clearly.

  • Familiar with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

  • Basic knowledge of performance testing (JMeter or similar tools) and security testing concepts.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10–12 years of hands-on experience in software testing, primarily as an individual contributor.

  • Experience testing mobile applications, particularly with Xamarin and C# (Java/Kotlin is a plus).

  • Prior exposure to firmware, hardware, or embedded system testing is highly desirable.

  • Working knowledge of microservices architecture and containerized deployments.

  • Experience with CI/CD systems and maintaining automation in a DevOps setup.

  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack) for system-level debugging and validation.

  • Proficient in Java 8 and above, with strong understanding of language features such as Streams, Lambda expressions, and functional interfaces.

  • Strong understanding of various communication protocols including MQTT, WebSocket, and HTTP(S).

  • Experience working with low-level communication interfaces such as USB Serial, RS232, UART, SPI, and I2C.
