Senior Lead Mobility Engineer

Job Summary:

 

As a Sr. Lead Mobility Engineer, you will help us build and design a new Mobile App Platform to deliver the next generation of Mobile applications used to do Service and Installation of pedestrian doors. The Sr. Lead Mobility Engineer will mainly be responsible for the architecture design of the App platform, making sure it is modularized, maintainable and possible to expand and adapt for future needs. 

 

You will be part of the app development team in the Chennai office and being part of the bigger App development team located in Sweden. You will be working closely together with UX designer, the Firmware Developers of our products and our technicians in various location globally.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

 

  • Designing and developing the architecture for our mobile application with consideration to maintainability, modularity, and robustness. 
  • Authorization, authentication, and permission handling.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Conducting code reviews and performance analysis to ensure adherence to architectural guidelines, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Creating and maintaining architectural documentation, including diagrams, guidelines, and best practices, to ensure a clear understanding of the system's structure and functionality.
  • Continuously evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for the app, considering factors such as compatibility, performance, and scalability.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues and bottlenecks related to the app and backend systems, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in mobile app development and backend technologies, and incorporating them into the architecture where applicable.
  • Supporting the development team in implementations, providing guidance and support throughout the development process.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

 

Key competences & requirements

 

  • Proven experience as a Sr. Lead App Developer, with a strong background in mobile app development and system design.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs & JSON to connect iOS applications/SDK to back-end services
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Deep understanding of design patterns/architectures, “Security by design" and "Privacy by design".
  • Proficiency in native iOS/Android app development frameworks.
  • Good knowledge about standard toolsets (Android Studio, Gradle/Gradle Wrapper, Swift package manager/Cocapods etc).
  • Good understanding of the Android application stack (lifecycle, view hierarchy, navigation, state keeping etc).
  • Good understanding of the developer testing infrastructure (Unit testing, mock frameworks, concurrency model testing etc).

 

Seen as an advantage:

  • Experience with BLE communication protocol.
  • Work experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Familiar with git, continuous integration, and delivery practices.

Unit Testing

 

Education and/or Experience

        

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, information systems or demonstrated equivalent education and relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years of total work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as Lead Mobile Application Developer.

 

Language Skills

                 

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
