Summary: Manufacturing Technology Support Analyst provides operational and technical support for manufacturing platforms across ASSA ABLOY Door Group facilities. These platforms include ShopGrid, a custom MES solution with a significant footprint across the Door Group, Inductive Automation Ignition, ERP integrations, reporting solutions, and manufacturing databases. The role coordinates ServiceNow incidents and feature requests, troubleshoots systems and data, supports testing, and improves long-term supportability by documenting legacy and new solutions.

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide first-level support for custom MES solutions, including ShopGrid, as well as Ignition, reporting     solutions, integrations, and related manufacturing applications.
  • Facilitate incidents, service requests, and feature requests through ServiceNow, including prioritization, routing, tracking, communication, and closure.
  • Troubleshoot MES workflows, work orders, routings, transactions, configuration, access, reports, and ERP integration issues.
  • Support Ignition applications using Python/Jython scripting, tag configuration, gateway diagnostics, database connectivity, and application testing.
  •  Use SQL to validate data, investigate discrepancies, support root cause analysis, and monitor interfaces and system health.
  •  Execute functional and regression testing for updates, enhancements, integrations, and deployments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, knowledge articles, user guides, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Document legacy ShopGrid solutions, workflows, integrations, reports, labels, and configurations to reduce knowledge gaps and improve supportability.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with plant personnel, IT teams, Manufacturing Technology resources, and software vendors

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE and/or ABILITIES

  • SQL querying, relational databases, data analysis, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Python/Jython scripting, preferably within Inductive Automation Ignition.
  • MES administration and manufacturing concepts such as work orders, routings, production workflows, transactions, data collection, and ERP integrations.
  • ServiceNow request coordination, software testing, technical writing, and documentation development.
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical thinking, and ability to work effectively across time zones
  • Ability to work through complex issues and identify required interventions.
  • General understanding of business strategies.
  • Proven ability for effective problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic and functional level.
  • Person must have leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills, consulting skills and the proven ability to develop relationships and influence all levels within the organization and external to the organization with developers, and business users.
  • Demonstrated presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

EDUCATION:

Preferred undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems or related field and/or equivalent work experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

A Minimum of 5 years related experience in a business production environment.

 

GOOD TO HAVE:

Manufacturing industry experience would be beneficial but is not required if the candidate possesses a strong technical foundation and demonstrates the ability to learn the manufacturing domain, experience with Ignition, Power BI, .NET, and related manufacturing technologies would be valuable.
