Senior Engineer - Hosting Full Stack
We are seeking experienced and motivated system administrators with strong coding experience to join our server hosting team. You will be a member of a team responsible for all hosting services in our global datacenters. You will primarily leverage your expertise in server management and coding to drive patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, automation, and custom solutions development.
This role is located at ASSA ABLOY Global IT. You will be part of a global team, interacting with our customers and vendors in other regions (EMEA, Americas, APAC). Occasional international travel may occur.

You are a system administrator with the heart of a software engineer.
While you are comfortable optimizing server environments, your approach is rooted in efficiency, automation, simplicity and scalability. You see servers not just as individual machines to maintain but also as subjects available for orchestration.
You write clean, reusable scripts and tools, leveraging your coding skills to solve complex operational challenges. You believe in version control. You value testing and documentation. You seek to automate wherever possible.
Your passion for innovation and problem-solving allows you to bridge the gap between traditional IT operations and modern software development practices.
Key Responsibilities
Patch & Vulnerability Management

Implement and maintain patch management strategies to secure server environments.

Collaborate with change management to schedule and deploy patches systematically.
Solution Development

Develop scripts and tools using PowerShell, Python, or other languages to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Develop and maintain custom solutions and integrations.
Platform Management

Manage the HCL BigFix infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Develop and maintain custom components to address specific requirements.
Training & Documentation

Define and document procedures, guidelines, and custom solutions.

Provide training and mentorship to support teams.
Incident Response

Collaborate with the incident response team to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant areas.
Technical Expertise
-
Strong understanding of server infrastructure, virtualization, operating systems, network and security.

Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server environments.

Proficient in various scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, bash etc.).

Full stack development experience (JavaScript, CSS, C#, etc.) is preferred.

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is preferred.

Experience in IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools is preferred.

Experience in patch & vulnerability management with HCL BigFix is preferred.

Experience in BigFix's proprietary Relevance and Action Script language is a plus.
