Senior BI Developer

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer with over 5 years of expertise in designing and delivering advanced business intelligence solutions. In this role, you will set the architectural direction for Power BI implementations, ensuring scalability, performance, and adherence to enterprise standards. You will design and optimize data models, establish governance frameworks for reporting, and integrate Power BI within a complex enterprise ecosystem that leverages multiple data sources such as Snowflake.

This position requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data architects, developers, and IT leadership to deliver actionable insights and analytics solutions that drive strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in defining best practices for Power BI development, implementing security and compliance measures, and ensuring that reporting solutions meet both technical and business requirements in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Systems.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Power BI and relational databases.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Snowflake or BI stack applications.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, Power Query, and DAX for data modelling and analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a structured, organized, and systematic approach.
  • Experience managing development and innovation using Agile or iterative project methodologies.
  • Ability to define multiple solution options to solve complex business problems.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing onshore/offshore teams, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in DevOps and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Teamwork) and documentation tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence).
  • Ability to integrate AI-driven solutions securely, ensuring data governance and compliance.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and flexibility in handling evolving technologies and complex challenges.
  • Clear communicator with collaborative leadership style, fostering teamwork and mentoring peers.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Create and implement BI solutions using Power BI, integrating with databases and data warehouses.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present complex data in an actionable format.
  • Build and maintain optimized data models to ensure accuracy and relevancy.
  • Manage data security, governance, and performance within Power BI solutions.
  • Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various sources for business analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to users on Power BI and data analytics best practices.
  • Perform regular maintenance and enhancements to existing BI solutions, incorporating new data sources and features.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability for all reporting and analytics.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in BI, data analytics, and visualization to continuously improve capabilities.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in Report Development.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects to understand business requirements and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and business leaders to align Reporting strategy with organizational objectives.
  • Lead the Analytics Platform setup, including multi-environment configuration (Dev/Test/Prod), security and performance tuning.
  • Provide architectural guidance and mentoring to development teams and consultants.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Snowflake for data warehousing and SQL-based transformations.
  • Knowledge of SAP business data domains and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and deploying solutions on Azure.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
