Profile Summary:
The Security Architect for Operational Technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) provides HID Global with architectural and technical expertise to secure OT environments and IoT ecosystems. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining security frameworks and solutions that protect industrial control systems, connected devices, and supporting infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. This individual is a contributing member of the Global Security Services team and is based in Chennai, India.

Roles & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Develop and maintain security architecture for OT and IoT environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assess risks and vulnerabilities in industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA networks, and IoT deployments.
- Design and implement network segmentation strategies for OT environments to minimize attack surfaces.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to integrate security controls into OT and IoT systems.
- Define and enforce security policies for device onboarding, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.
- Evaluate and recommend security technologies for OT and IoT, including anomaly detection, secure gateways, and encryption solutions.
- Conduct threat modeling and security assessments of existing and new OT/IoT projects.
- Provide guidance on compliance with standards such as IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001.
- Support awareness training and incident response activities related to OT and IoT systems.
- Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and best practices in OT and IoT security.
Education and/or Experience
- 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on OT and IoT environments.
- Strong knowledge of ICS/SCADA systems, industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA), and IoT communication standards (MQTT, CoAP).
- Experience implementing network segmentation and Zero Trust principles in OT environments.
- Familiarity with security tools for OT/IoT such as intrusion detection systems, asset inventory solutions, and secure remote access technologies.
- Hands-on experience with risk assessments and vulnerability management in OT/IoT contexts, including implementation of compensating measures.
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert.
- Proven ability to independently drive security related projects.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with OT monitoring tools, IoT platforms, and security configuration management.
