SAP Technical Lead ABAP
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced SAP Technical Lead with strong expertise in ABAP, Fiori development, and SAP PI/PO integration to join our team. In this critical role, you will manage and own development activities, ensuring high-quality solutions that align with business needs and technical standards. Proven experience with SAP ECC on HANA 4.6C, SAP MDG, and SAP PI/PO is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Lead and manage the development team, ensuring delivery of scalable and efficient technical solutions.
- Act as the go-to expert for SAP ABAP, Fiori development, and SAP PI/PO, troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Establish coding and integration standards, perform code reviews, and provide technical guidance to the team.
ABAP Development:
- Design, develop, and implement robust custom programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms using SAP ABAP.
- Work on advanced ABAP concepts, including OOPs, ALV reporting, BADIs, user exits, enhancement spots, and SAP scripts/Smart Forms.
- Optimize and tune ABAP code for performance improvements.
Fiori Development:
- Develop, enhance, and support SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
- Create custom SAP Fiori apps and configure standard applications based on user requirements.
- Work with OData services to integrate backend SAP systems with Fiori apps.
SAP PI/PO Integration:
- Design and implement end-to-end SAP PI/PO integration scenarios, ensuring seamless communication between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Develop and manage interfaces using tools like Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) and Integration Directory (ID).
- Monitor and troubleshoot PI/PO integrations to resolve issues promptly.
- Optimize and enhance middleware solutions to align with business objectives and best practices.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and design technical solutions.
- Partner with other technical leads and architects to ensure alignment with overall SAP architecture and integration strategies.
- Provide regular status updates and manage technical deliverables for projects.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies, including PI/PO capabilities, and best practices in ABAP and Fiori development.
- Identify opportunities to improve development and integration processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior developers.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 8+ years of hands-on SAP technical experience, with strong expertise in ABAP and Fiori development.
- Proven experience in SAP PI/PO integration and middleware tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and manage deliverables.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in SAP PI/PO, including ESR, ID, mapping tools, and integration adapters.
- Strong knowledge of ABAP OOPs, SAP Enhancement Framework, and performance optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Gateway, and OData services.
- Exposure to SAP HANA, CDS Views, and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures) is a plus.
