SAP S/4 HANA Basis Application Expert
PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the end-to-end administration and support of SAP S/4HANA systems, ensuring high availability, optimal performance. The role encompasses managing day-to-day SAP BASIS operations, including system upgrades, configuration, monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards, governance, and SAP best practices.
KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform all activities related to technical maintenance and administration of SAP S/4 HANA and related environments.
- Proactively monitor the SAP landscape, report system metrics, and perform performance tuning when required.
- Execute installations, upgrades, support pack implementations, kernel upgrades, security patching, and add-on installations.
- Manage Change Management processes including Transport Management System (TMS) administration.
- Perform background job scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and alerting-related activities.
- Configure and manage SSO for SAP GUI and Fiori (SAML/Kerberos).
- Administer SAP Fiori & Gateway services, including troubleshooting.
- Manage SAP spool and print administration across global systems.
- Support system interfaces (IDoc/RFC/API integrations) and connectivity with external systems.
- Troubleshoot issues and implement SAP Notes, patches, and kernel fixes.
- Perform client administration, system refresh, homogeneous/heterogeneous system copies.
- Review and act on SAP EarlyWatch Alerts and system health reports.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DB (HANA), OS, and security teams to ensure high availability.
- Generate performance, utilization, and capacity planning reports.
- Provide L2/L3 support for incidents, problem management, and change requests.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, or related discipline with minimum 7 years of SAP Basis experience including exposure to RISE / HEC / Cloud environments
- Minimum 2 full lifecycle implementations / rollouts and support experience in SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC environments.
- Extensive hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, Cloud ALM & BTP
- Experience with system monitoring tools like Cloud ALM and third-party monitoring tools.
- Experience with SAP Fiori administration, Gateway setup, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within constrained timelines.
Desirable:
- SAP Certification in SAP Basis / SAP S/4HANA System Administration.
- Exposure to SAP Cloud technologies (SAP BTP, RISE with SAP, Azure/AWS hosting).
WORK ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
- Office based/Remote with occasional international travel.

- Working times are European time zone, however open to be available in APAC/US time zone as well for the need basis.
