As our Platform DBA – MS SQL, you’ll support success by:


The Platform DBA – MS SQL position will work closely in physical database administration including performance management, security, installations, upgrades, patches, backup, recovery, space management, performance tuning and capacity planning.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Duties and Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following.


  • Working closely in physical database administration including performance management, security, installations, upgrades, patches, backup, recovery, space management, performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Hands-on experience in MS SQL version upgrades, Backup Restore & DR Failover & Failback activities.
  • Good Work experience in the Install, Manage & Support of MS SQL HA & DR
  • Ensure that all database environments are deployed, maintained, and managed via proactive monitoring of performance and capacity planning of RDBMS.
  • Maintain backup and recovery process, including disaster recovery performance and tuning of database and application. Managing database backup and recovery with CommVault/Rubrik.
  • Managing database security, roles, and profiles.
  • Ensure data requirements have been identified, design is fully normalized, and database complies with industry best practices and strict security requirements.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Monitor system's health and performance using SQL Idera, Logic Monitor.
  • Scripting knowledge in powershell will be an added advantage.



 What we appreciate about your background:


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a field that provides a strong foundation for successful performance of the DUTIES in this job description.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience as SQL Server DBA, MY SQL Server Administration
  • 3 to 5 years of experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
  • Knowledge in cloud domain such as Azure or OCI is mandatory.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or Azure certifications will be a plus.
  • Proven commitment to customer care, system availability, reliability and issue resolution.
  • This can include off-hours and on-call support to resolve system incidents
  • Analytical/Creative Problem Solving
  • This position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently troubleshoot as well as develop alternative solutions to problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work independently with minimal supervision, or collaborate on a multidisciplinary teams
  • ITIL foundation certification strongly prefered
  • Experience with oracle adhoc reporting tool – Discoverer is desired.
