Role Description

The Network & Security IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting enterprise network and security infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. This role requires strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, network protocols, security technologies, and troubleshooting practices. The engineer will work closely with internal IT teams to support network operations, resolve incidents, participate in infrastructure projects, and ensure compliance with organizational standards and security requirements. Staying current with networking technologies and security best practices is essential for supporting a reliable and secure network environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and deployment of functional and scalable network solutions.
  • Configure, install, and maintain network devices and services such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including patches, service packs, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect enterprise systems and data.
  • Participate in IT infrastructure projects and operational initiatives within the service area.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation related to network configurations, procedures, and implementations.
  • Collaborate with network, security, infrastructure, and application teams to support business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and industry best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for network performance, stability, and security.
  • Assist in testing, validating, and implementing network changes in accordance with change management processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications.
  • Good understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and enterprise networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in implementing and supporting network security technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple operational tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good understanding of the OSI model, networking principles, and industry best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining network hardware and security appliances.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Experience participating in infrastructure projects and network upgrades.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Years of Experience: 5+
