What you would do as our Network & Security IT Infrastructure Engineer
You will work as IT Infrastructure Engineer with Network & Security related GSSC Services. In close collaborating with internal technical teams, customers as well as external strategic partners, you are part of a team who increase the quality and efficiency for the GSSC Network and security infrastructure. Included in the role is to understand and contribute to suggesting improvements of services within portfolio. You also have to ensure adequate communication with the customer(s) for service-related enquiries and problem handling.


This role is part of the GSSC Global Operations Centre (GOC) which is a function being built up and now further expanded to be the control centre of all Infrastructure services that GSSC delivers, securing services works as expected by working closely with monitoring solutions as well as being the interface to our customers related to changes, requests and incidents (shift work, 24/7).

 

The Skills and Experience You Need
We are looking for someone who has experience with:

Core Skills in NSX Engineering:

 

Basic NSX-T Knowledge:

Understanding of VMware NSX-T architecture and core components. Experience with basic NSX-T setup, configuration, and management. Familiarity with NSX-T features such as micro-segmentation and distributed firewall.

 

Networking Fundamentals:

Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching). Experience with network virtualization basics (VLANs, VXLANs). Basic knowledge of network services like load balancing and VPNs.

 

Virtualization Basics:

Experience with VMware vSphere and virtual machine management. Understanding of vSwitches and distributed switches. Awareness of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and their integration with NSX.

 

 

Specialized Firewall Security Skills:

 

Basic Firewall Configuration:

Exposure to configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet). Basic understanding of firewall rules, NAT, and VPN setup. Awareness of IDS/IPS and their role in network security.

NSX Distributed Firewall (DFW):

Familiarity with NSX Distributed Firewall concepts and basic rule configuration. Exposure to micro-segmentation strategies and security best practices.

Security Awareness:

Awareness of security policy implementation and the importance of compliance.

LAN / WAN & IPsec - configuration, management and maintenance sites connectivity based on routers and IPsec tunnels. Participate upgrades and devices replacement.
Firewalls and Security - handling tickets and requests at ServiceNow, supervision at changes and cooperation with 3rd parties. Technologies (Panorama, PaloAlto, ASA firewall, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Algosec)
Zscaler - site connectivity, supervision and implementation more and more secure solutions for global organization. Troubleshooting connectivity and update to the latest standards.
Remote Access - working closely with requestor / caller with issues and implementation of new solution based on PulseSecure. Need to understand correctly how it’s working, how it should be working and how we could improve service to get: 100% coverage.
Global Wifi - implementations of requests and working with incident based on Wifi level - technologies Cisco Prime, Cisco WLC, Cisco AP, and Arista.
Monitoring - SolarWinds as a main monitoring tool for the infrastructure, task based on add / delete / modify nodes to the system, good to have some basic understanding of tools to monitoring - if will help a lot with day by day works and troubleshooting.
Load balancing - understanding methodology, follow with security standards, working with internal client implementation and enhancements of the service. Technologies F5
IP management - Infoblox as a main tool with IP management, task based on add / modify subnets assignation to the production sites.


Additional Relevant Skills:

Introduction to Automation and Scripting:

Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell) to automate simple network tasks. Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible is a plus.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Basic experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds). Problem-solving skills to assist in troubleshooting network and security issues.

Security Incident Response:

Awareness of the basics of handling security incidents. Exposure to SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) for basic threat detection.

 

Soft Skills:

Good communication skills to work effectively within a team. Eagerness to document processes and configurations. Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Ideally, you would also have experience working in a multinational company with colleagues in many different countries to build good relations with customers and vendors.
