Lead DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will work collaboratively with our BI and Data engineers to deploy and automate the MS Fabric release pipelines. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of data solutions and support the implementation of Microsoft Fabric.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD workflows for deploying Fabric data pipelines, notebooks, and analytical assets using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Develop automation scripts (PowerShell/Python) to manage Fabric capacities, workspaces, and Azure resources efficiently.
- Set up logging and alerting for Fabric workloads; analyse performance metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Enforce access controls, integrate automated compliance checks, and ensure secure handling of secrets and sensitive data across environments.
- Investigate and resolve incidents related to Fabric workloads, capacity utilization, and data pipeline operations to maintain system reliability.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and platform administrators to align DevOps practices with Fabric environment needs.
- Drive a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and documentation to enhance deployment efficiency, governance, and platform stability.
Required Skills:
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Fabric integration (Lakehouse, notebooks, pipelines, environments)
- Strong understanding of Azure services across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Proficient in Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, with emphasis on Azure Repos
- Experience with Docker, Azure Container Registry, Dev Containers, Kubernetes/AKS
- Skilled in release management across multiple environments (Dev, SIT, UAT, Prod)
- Automation using Azure CLI, PowerShell, Python, Bash
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Azure DevOps certifications are a plus
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, information systems or equivalent education and relevant work experience.
- 9 - 12 years of total work experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of specific IT experience as a DevOps Engineer.
Language Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
