IT Infrastructure and M&A Support Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure and M&A Support Specialist to provide comprehensive technical support and lead IT-related initiatives during mergers and acquisitions. The role covers the entire M&A lifecycle of Post-Merger Integration—ensuring smooth infrastructure transitions and alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will also manage a range of infrastructure projects, including domain and system migrations, disaster recovery planning, and the optimisation of IT services across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
M&A Support:
- Integration Planning & Leadership:
- Lead all IT aspects of M&A transactions, from post-merger integration, ensuring successful execution within scope, timelines, and budget.
- Develop and oversee IT integration plans, covering infrastructure, applications, and data migration.
- Work with cross-functional IT teams and business leaders to ensure smooth integration and alignment with corporate development goals.
- Post-Merger Integration:
- Support the carve-out of business assets and operations and manage the seamless integration of systems post-merger.
- Assess and implement process improvements, focusing on finance, operations, ERP systems, CRM Systems, and IT infrastructure.
IT Infrastructure Support:
- System & Domain Migrations:
- Oversee complex IT infrastructure migrations, including domain, Office 365, and Exchange migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Project Delivery & Disaster Recovery:
- Strategically plan, design, and implement disaster recovery services with tried and tested procedures.
- Identify and explore opportunities to enhance infrastructure services, developing business cases for proposed technical solutions.
- Technical Support & Vendor Management:
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support, resolving escalated IT infrastructure issues.
- Manage suppliers and contractors to ensure the delivery of complex technical solutions.
- Maintain infrastructure-related licensing, support, and maintenance renewals, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain technical documentation, ensuring that infrastructure, processes, and disaster recovery procedures are well-documented and updated.
Cross-Functional & Environmental Responsibility:
- Collaborate with internal IT staff, service desks, and third-party providers to optimize IT services.
- Actively participate in the company’s Green IT agenda by identifying opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint of IT infrastructure.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications:
- University degree in a field related to IT or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years in IT infrastructure and support, with at least 3 years managing M&A projects in a global organization.
- Proven experience in leading IT aspects of M&A lifecycle (due diligence, integration, and post-merger activities).
- Expertise in infrastructure management, including domain migrations, Office 365 migrations, and Exchange migrations.
- Technical & Project Management Skills:
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and server virtualization (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience in business transformations, data migration, and IT implementations, including IT cutover activities.
- Proficiency in project and stakeholder management, with the ability to handle complex technical problems independently.
- Communication & Leadership:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting reports and presenting to executive leadership.
- Strong analytical skills, with an understanding of the financial and operational impact of IT decisions.
- Other Skills:
- Ability to work effectively in international and cross-cultural environments.
- Experience working within governance frameworks such as ISO27001.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects.
