Director- IT Operations

     

 

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is setting up an IT Centre of Excellence in Chennai that will help achieve the execution of efficient IT processes across the Global Solutions Division which in turn will help achieve business goals resulting in an excellent service delivery to users/customers.

 

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE 

 

  • As IT Centre of Excellence Director at ASSA ABLOY you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the offshore centre of excellence in Chennai for the Global Solutions Division as well as manage the ERP Support.

 

KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects, inform management of status of all projects
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels
  • Manage and/or mentor junior and senior team members of development team to meet project objectives and timelines
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are a must
  • Must be articulate, organized, detail-oriented, collaborative and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising employees’ performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Manage AMS Support for Divisional ERPs and collaborate with both internal and external teams as required.
  • Must have experience working in a multinational company with projects spanning US, EMEA & APAC time zones.
  • Resolve any conflicts within the team and report any issues to the core team (candidate’s manager and other functional managers)
  • Attend weekly/bi-weekly meetings to provide offshore team’s status update to the core team
  • Must be comfortable and willing to work within a matrix organization structure
  • Provide team members performance status update to your manager and the functional managers regularly

SELECTION CRITERIA 

 

Essential:

  • Prior experience in implementation and support of SAP ERP is required
  • Bachelors in engineering (computer science or equivalent) required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Must possess a minimum of 20+ years of industry experience, out of which 5+ years of IT management experience (Staff of 10 or more members), preferably engineering in the electronics or software industry. 
  • Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
  • Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability
  • Strong communication skills in English, self-driven and motivated.
  • Autonomous / independent style of work, teamwork and good communication style.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly; demonstrate flexibility when presented with change.

  • Office based/hybrid model.

  • 10% Travel, including international travel, may be required. Therefore, employee should have a valid passport.
