Summary

Architect – EBS position will work collaboratively with the oracle functional and technical teams on various oracle implementation and support activities. The position will play a key role in working with the oracle teams, DBA, and other dependent functions. Along with the technical responsibilities, this role will take care of the people responsibility of the oracle applications team in Chennai.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, customizing, and integrating Oracle e-Business Suite applications with other systems, and providing ongoing support and future enhancements of those solutions.

  • Work with team members and other cross functional team as needed to scope, design, implement and test

  • Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting complex issues and implementing solutions.

  • Has a strong software development knowledge using a variety of technologies.

  • Work with peers, and business analysts to create functional specification and determine implementation details.

  • Provide functional support for both application and business process issues

  • Work in a cross-functional environment, develop solutions that integrate information technology and business process changes to support strategic business information needs.

  • Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security and performance.

  • Document validation of design decisions

  • Follow documentation, software development methodology, version control and testing, and migration standards.

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; Identify and implement solutions.

  • Maintain current applications which includes, but is not limited to, bug fixes, feature enhancements and performance tuning.

  • Using Scaled Agile framework – SAFe, design and implement the new projects.

  • Provide functional and technical support for both application and business process issues

  • Document all requests and ensure that the project management process methodology is adhered to including submission to the governance board as required.

  • Performs and coordinates the analysis and design of business systems.

  • Coordinates and conducts user support and training.

  • Acts as a liaison between the business user groups and the technical systems groups.

  • Identifies innovative solutions to business issues.

  • Improves process flow and user documentation for Oracle ERP and enhances user knowledge and competency.

  • Maintains a stable and accurate Oracle Applications production instance that meets the customer’s needs maintaining compliance and audit policies.

  • Creates and manages Oracle Support Service Requests as required.

  • Design and manage the delivery of program specifications based on consultations with supervisor, other programmers, and end users.

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in evaluation of user request/requirement and corresponding optimum approach/solution working in conjunction with the technical staff.

  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as requested.

  • Mentoring and supporting the team technically on the oracle applications space.

  • Ability to work and manage multiple projects and efforts simultaneously.

  • Excel at stakeholder management, ensuring closer collaboration between global delivery teams.

  • Excel at expectations management, and meeting deadlines.

 

Experience and/or Education Qualification:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or manufacturing/operations or IT related field or equivalent experience.

  • 14+ Years’ experience in the areas of analysis and design of Oracle ERP Applications.

  • Proficient in the core modules of Oracle very well.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with distributed end users on how the Oracle application can assist in supporting their needs

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions.

  • Strong knowledge in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Reports, Unix shell scripting, Oracle BI/XML Publisher, Oracle Workflow Builder and SOA

  • Knowledge of EDI and mapping XML/X12 transactions is a plus

  • Experience in working with multi product implementation environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate findings both written and orally using both technical and non-technical terms.

  • Exposure to SAFe and Agile methodologies
