Production Team Member
To produce high quality timber and metal work within commercial and domestic industries. Operate machinery safely and efficiently according to operating standards/instructions and in line with health and safety regulations, practices and legislation.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilites
- Adjust components where necessary using a grinder or other cutting tools.
- Operate a range of different machinery to build door frames and doors i.e., Beam Saws, Routers, Edge Banders, Brake Presses, Turrets etc.
- Fit components using jigs.
- General jobbing work fitting special hardware.
- Read and understand workshop drawings.
- Fabrication of profile lengths using bending and cutting machinery.
- Identify material types.
- Conduct quality control checks on own work.
- Complete required paperwork.
Maintenance
- Record/report details of defective goods.
- Equipment maintenance as scheduled.
- Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily or when required.
Key Position Criteria
- Tradesperson or equivalent
- Welding Experience
- Work within tolerance; ensure quality in the product.
- Maintaining production levels as required.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Comply with standards and procedures of Spence Doors following WHS guidelines and wear personal protective equipment.
- Ability and willingness to follow direction as well as the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square.
- Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specification.
- Must be able to operate sheet metal machinery and welding equipment.
- Report all defective parts and materials to Leading Hand.
