Industrial Sales Representative
As an Industrial Sales Representative, you will work within an outlined territory to represent industrial equipment to existing clients and prospects such as general contractors, leading manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, distribution centers and corporate/national offices. Candidates will be responsible for growing their territory by developing and implementing a strategic territory plan, documenting progress, estimating and closing projects within the defined segment.
What you will be doing:
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the Chattanooga area and surrounding areas i.e., Dalton GA, Huntsville, AL
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and relationship-building.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate customer needs for doors, docks, loading equipment, safety products, and related solutions.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and product demonstrations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing customers.
- Maintain strong relationships with general contractors, facility managers, property managers, and end‑users.
- Provide consultative guidance on product selection, application design, and solution options.
- Ensure a high-quality customer experience before, during, and after the sale.
Project & Operational Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, project management, service, installation) to ensure accurate pricing and successful execution.
- Review drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine product requirements.
- Communicate project details clearly so operations teams can schedule installations efficiently.
- Monitor project status
Product & Market Expertise
- Maintain strong knowledge of commercial doors, dock equipment, operators, safety systems, and industry technology.
- Stay current on manufacturer product lines, specs, and warranty requirements.
- Understand competitor offerings and differentiate company solutions effectively.
Administrative & Reporting
- Track all sales activity within CRM tools (HubSpot & company systems).
- Maintain accurate records of quotes, customer interactions, and pipeline status.
- Prepare sales forecasts and weekly activity reports.
- Follow company pricing structures, discount policies, and margin guidelines.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 2 years of successful outside or inside business-to-business sales experience
- Industrial experience strongly preferred
- Documented records of sales achievements – procurement of new sales/development
- Highly ambitious and driven
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals and overcome obstacles
- Enthusiastic drive to succeed with obvious confidence and competitive nature
- Superior prospecting and customer relationship skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter with a high level of integrity
