Warehouse Worker
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Warehouse Worker in our Charlotte area location. This position will be responsible for shipping, receiving, finished goods warehouse, order pulling, delivery and freight scheduling, quality control, inventory accuracy control, and maintaining warehouse conditions.
What you will be doing:
- Operates powered industrial forklift to transport inventory, unload incoming stock and load orders.
- Pulls and stages orders for shipment.
- Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
- Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
- Unload items to be stocked in warehouses and or storage yards.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
- Follows standard operating procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.
The skills and experience you need:
- High School diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and other equipment utilized in the warehouse.
- Must be able to speak professionally with both employees and customers.
- Must be able to keep employees and material organized on a daily basis.
- Must be able to deliver a high level of customer service on a daily basis.
- Competent with Excel and Word systems. JDE mainframe a plus but will train.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of 30-40 pounds, occasional climbing of ladders; usage of pallet jacks.
